Way out...

Things I Learned Before 40. (Ain't Fowty Yet!)

So here I am, it's my birthday and I am sitting in my beautiful comfy african mumu with a nice (second) mug of delicious brazilian coffee (toi moi et café). The doors and windows are closed and it is nice and coooool in here. I sparked an Owl earlier and sat on my balcony and listened to the birds and watched my cat listen to the birds and I got to thinking (like usual). "I have been around the sun thirty-nine times now. It's so close and so far away. All of it still engrained in my giant melon of a coco. My memories of my life, all of them good and bad, are all beautiful, because they happened and I can remember." Those that know me well know that my memory is as amazing as it is useless and I repeat myself from time to time, but only because I like to tell stories ;) Anywhoo...I'm losing myself.

I have been blessed with a peaceful, funny, emotional roller coaster of a life so far, and I have learned many things as I have developed into THE MAN THAT I AM TODAY! (see pic)------------------------------

Yes that is me in all my Bill Hillness. (lol) En Tous Cas, Growing up was not hard to do, having been surrounded by such wonderful and admirable hobbits...oh wait, no...wrong speech.

Voilà, I have one year before forty and here is a list of what I have learn-ed in that amount of time, and what I find to be most relevant to further my progress as a Human Being.

-   Life is what you make it, you make right and good choices in all aspects of your life and life will be good to you. What to eat or how and what to think and feel. Once I realised that I had the right and power to simply choose, my life changed instantly (the dude abides)

-   More than not, you usually always have a choice. When in certain dilemmas, one can create a choice and do what one can with what one has. (it's just a matter of what you do with the time that is given to you)

-   When in doubt, wait. Patience is Awesome. All of those days spent watching Star Wars paid off as I now have the patience of a Jedi. Just have to be patient until I get a seat on the council! (my ally is the force)

-   Stress is easily avoidable, (See first two things...)

-   Instinct and Wisdom are like peanut butter and honey. They go hand in hand. I believe that Right and Wrong are easily identifiable, inherently, in our nature, And most of us are do-rights.

-   Real Acceptance. Once I got there, letting things go, material or emotional, was like second nature. I learned that expectations are like an odor you can't wash off your hands.

-   I learned a second language, that sexy romantic language! Le Français!

-   In my years I have learned to "Cuisiner comme un Dieu!" At least that's what Véronique tells me. ;)

-   I will always be a Die-Hard-Geek. Yes I still average the original Star Wars trilogy once a month. NO! I don't just sit and watch it, it's in the background while I do my thing. Yes, I know you probably think that's lame, but I accept that, and I don't expect you to love Star Wars as much as me! (you see where i am going with this?) If you hate it though. I probably hate you too. (LOL) I have a Spider-Man Collection as well as a shitload of other bonhommes I will get rid of eventually, and replace with other toys. My DVD collection is chalk full of Hero Movies and Kung Fu flicks.

-   I've Learned How Far Human Kicks Can Go. You know what I mean.

-   BALD IS BEAUTIFUL.

-   Be gentle with others and with nature. That's pretty self explanatory right there.

-   I've learned how to live within my means.

-   Simple is easy. It was complicated. Now it just "Is"

-   Nothing is possible. I do nothing at least 15-20 minutes everyday.

-   A smile can take you places. For Real.

-   I have learned How to be HAPPY. (90% of it is just getting over yourself, CL)

-   Finally and most recently, From February until now, I did some vocational studies to be a PAB (Préposé aux Bénéficières) which is fancy french words for a Support Worker. I Have 3 months of internships in 2 different hospitals in different settings. The people I met and the teachers I had were amazing to say the least. I learned so much and really felt also that I was contributing in a very positive way with everyone. It went very fast and I start my Stage in 3 days! I will be a support worker and further my studies to care for people until I retire.

So here I am, ready to start a new path in life and I am grateful so much for the path that lays behind me. The minds I've encountered and the people I Love, thank you. From the bottom of my unsinkable heart. The Door is Open.
